CHICAGO, Feb. 17, 2009 – The Chicago chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Chicago) has received two awards for outstanding chapter management. IABC/Chicago received an award of excellence for financial management and an award of merit for membership marketing – both for the second year in a row
As an international association of communication professionals, IABC grants these annual awards to recognize the leadership abilities, management skills, creativity and teamwork of outstanding leaders from more than 100 IABC chapters worldwide.
“IABC’s Chapter Management Awards highlight excellence in chapter management and leadership. These awards recognize IABC/Chicago’s dedicated team of volunteer leaders and members for their commitment towards promoting the goals and objectives of the association at the local level,” said IABC President Julie Freeman, ABC, APR.*
“These awards are particularly gratifying because they were earned by our volunteer board – people who work nights and weekends to bring great programs and useful information to our 500+ members,” said Karen Utterback, ABC, president of the IABC/Chicago chapter. “The board’s work is especially important in these tough economic times, as we strive to help our members become more marketable and bring greater value to their organizations.”
IABC/Chicago is the oldest – and one of the largest – IABC chapters in the world, with more than 500 members. For more information on chapter services and on joining, visit www.iabcchicago.com.
