IABC/Chicago holds professional development events throughout the year, including our recently added hot topic sessions called Coffee Club. Our monthly luncheons became webinars during the pandemic, and we look forward to bringing back in-person events in the near future. We also look forward to hosting events for special interest groups as we recruit more volunteer leaders. In accordance with its mission, IABC/Chicago seeks to provide area communicators opportunities to network, learn and keep up-to-date on communication best practices.
Event Options
Coffee Club, 7:30am – 8:30am, Zoom
Coffee Clubs are held several times a year and offer an informal discussion on hot topics impacting the comms field. This member-only activity is offered in the morning. Watch for details on upcoming sessions on our main page. Our next Coffee Club is scheduled for October 5, 2022.
Monthly Programs, Noon time luncheons and remote
Luncheons are held several times a year, traditionally the third Wednesday of the month from September through May. These events allow members, non-members and students to learn from a communications expert or panel in an hour-long session. When we meet in in-person, the luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. with networking time; food is served at 11:45 a.m.; and each speaker/panel presents from noon to 12:45 p.m. During the pandemic, we shifted to online sessions and continue our cadence of monthly Noon events. Watch for more information on upcoming activities as we transition back to a regular cadence of programming once again.
If you have a topic of interest, a case study to share, or would like to volunteer to help plan our professional development activities, please reach out to a member of the board.
