SUMMARY:Communicators: Come prove your skills with new exam
DESCRIPTION:Communicators can take the new Communication Management Professional (CMP) certification exam for the first time in Chicago on April 9. The Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC) sponsors this certification. Achieving certification means the person has demonstrated professional competence in the following principles – ethics\, strategy\, analysis\, context and engagement: the IABC Global Standard. \n“The CMP offers mid-career communication professionals an extra credibility boost\, as it provides formal evidence of our knowledge and experience\,” said Matt Mason\, CMP\, Communication Management Consultant. \n“My clients know the value of strategic communication\, but often have to convince others in their organizations to make the investment. The credential certainly helps\, in that regard. I’m also excited that the GCCC is establishing CMP as a global standard\, which means strengthening ties with our colleagues outside of IABC in organizations such as Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the National Communication Association (NATCOM)\,” Mason said. \nThe certification program can elevate a communicator’s career and provides a structure for keeping skills fresh and applicable. Applicants are validated by IABC based on education and experience. If approved\, applicants have their skills and knowledge assessed through a multiple-choice exam. \nApplicants must register by March 25 for the April 9 exam in Chicago\, and candidates registering by March 10 will be given priority consideration. The Chicago chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is hosting this certification. \nVisit this page on iabc.com for more information and to register.
