The 2012 awards program offers several new features, reflecting the evolution of business communication:
- Online submission – IABC/Chicago goes “green” with an online awards submission program, allowing entrants the ability to conveniently submit entries electronically and submit payment all in one place.
- New categories – IABC/Chicago announces two new categories: Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and Digital Communications/Marketing.
- Increased Entrant Resources – The committee provided increased submission resources, increasing entrant education on award-winning submissions. IABC/Chicago placed educational videos and podcasts, examples of award-winning work plans and examples of judging criteria on their website. A “Submitting an Award Winning Entry” webinar will also take place January 11th, 2012, free of charge. (Register here)
Winning entries feature clear objectives supporting the organization’s goals, creative communication strategies and effective, measurable results. Previous winners represent companies small and large, including McDonald’s, Motorola, Sprint, Boeing, Allstate, Accenture and Aon Consulting.
As ‘the Oscar’ for Chicago-area communications professionals, winning a Bronze Quill Award can help justify a raise or defend an increase in budget. It increases your personal confidence and, most importantly, exemplifies your excellence as a practitioner.
Winners receive peer and personal acclaim, recognition at an annual awards banquet, a personalized trophy, use of the Bronze Quill logo, mention on the IABC/Chicago website and named in a national press release.
