Low-Cost Learning Options for New, Aspiring Communications Managers

New for 2011: IABC is partnering with Ithaca College to offer new distance learning seminars in Strategic Communication Management. These courses are designed for communication professionals moving into management roles. IABC members can enroll in three courses for the January 20 – February 5 session at the discounted rate of $450 per course:

ROI and Beyond: Calculate what the actual and ROI value of communication and learning systems have to establish their strategic value as intangible assets and a competitive advantage to organizations.

Strategic Planning: Acquire a deeper understanding of strategy concepts and learn to develop a strategic plan that creates alignment with organizational priorities and cultivates influence with senior leadership.

Solving Performance Problems Across Cultures: This seminar combines practical applications with the theoretical foundations necessary to gain an understanding of cross-cultural issues and performance management processes needed by today’s global business managers. Participants will be introduced to concepts in performance management including the Human Performance Technology (HPT) Model developed by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and asked to consider how utilizing the HPT Model might be affected by cultural issues.

Courses will be offered on a monthly basis throughout 2011. Beginning in January 2011, communicators will be able to take any six seminars to earn a Level 1 Certificate, or complete 10 seminars to earn a Level 2 Certificate.
