IABC Chicago received a Chapter Management Award of Merit from IABC for Leadership Development on February 12 in Long Beach, California. As one of the oldest chapters in the organization, IABC Chicago has a proud legacy of being a top-notch chapter with active members. “Getting recognition from IABC for the hard work of our IABC Chicago board and volunteers is a highlight of my presidency,” said Gabrielle Loring.
The IABC Chapter Management Awards program measures the leadership, management, creativity and teamwork of IABC chapter leaders worldwide. The Leadership Development Award was awarded specifically for our chapter’s work in five areas: volunteer recruitment, program training and development, strategic planning, recognition and election procedures.
Some of the approaches to leadership development this past year IABC Chicago was recognized for included the IABC Chicago Champions program, the ways we have saved money on board costs and having an active cadre of more than 50 volunteers.
