IABC Chicago hosted the IABC Gold Quill Awards judging Blue Ribbon Panel for the U.S. on March 5 at ROC Group. “Judging the Gold Quill Awards really affirms the importance of strategic communications,” said Mary Hills, ABC, Six Sigma.
At the Blue Ribbon Panel, judging pairs reconciled their scores and had a chance to network and share key learnings. Barbara O’Malley was inspired by others’ work and seeing projects from the inside out.
Tom Schierholz, PhD, and Ruth Savolaine commented on getting the opportunity to review international entries with problems in all shapes and sizes as a highlight of the day. Why volunteer to do the Blue Ribbon Panel? Alexander Taratov, PHR, SHRM-CP said, “It’s the networking, collaboration and making a difference.”
Co-host Susan Heitsch added, “You get what you put in.” IABC Gold Quill Award Committee Chair Monika Lancucki, ABC summed it up well: “Thank you to all for contributing time and expertise to evaluating the Gold Quill Awards. This spirit of generosity is the lifeblood of IABC.”
