Using External Tactics for Internal Communications

Employees are a company’s most critical audience and best brand ambassadors. Kathleen Rafferty, Vice President, Director of Corporate Affairs at Olson Engage will discuss how to infuse empathy and creativity into your organization’s internal communications to build a loyal, enthusiastic and proud work force. About the Presenter
Kathleen joined Olson Engage in 2013 and leads the Corporate Affairs practice. She brings diverse domestic and international experience with demonstrated expertise in corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, issues management and executive positioning.

Over the past 10+ years Kathleen has analyzed and developed a number of CSR programs in addition to building public-private partnerships, managing major international crises and developing employee engagement strategies for Fortune 100 companies in the food, beverage and healthcare industries. Prior to working in the private sector, Kathleen was the Director of Communications for the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence under the Bloomberg Administration in New York City. She has also worked with several government officials including Illinois State Senator Kwame Raoul (President Obama’s successor).

Kathleen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Management and Sociology from the University of Dayton, a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration and Public Policy from the University of Chicago and previously served as an AmeriCorps volunteer working with inner city, at-risk youth.
