Each year, the IABC Chicago executive committee proudly presents the Karen Utterback Volunteer Award to one outstanding individual.

About the award
The annual Karen Utterback Volunteer Award, which began in 2012, recognizes a seasoned professional who donates his/her time and talent to further the professional communications practice. The IABC Chicago executive committee honors one outstanding individual at our Bronze Quill Awards reception each year. Selection criteria include:

  • Dedication to strategic communications excellence,
  • Assistance to the organization and its members, and
  • Years of volunteer service to the profession.
