The Importance of Measurement, April 23, 11:30am – 12:30pmCDT

Effective communication isn’t about completing the brochure, video or website – it’s about what the communication needs to accomplish and how successful it is at doing just that.

By measuring the outcomes of your communication against goals and objectives that tie to organizational goals, you demonstrate the ROI (return on investment) on your communication efforts. In doing so, you can prove the value communication has on the business – to your manager, management, your customer or client.

Gabrielle (Gabi) Loring, managing consultant with Gallagher, will lead us through:

  • Identifying the business need or opportunity
  • Setting meaningful, measurable goals and objectives – how does what you’re doing move the needle for the organization?
  • Measuring your communication efforts
  • She’ll demonstrate these principles through award-winning case studies and give participants an opportunity to apply what they learned to their own work.

Gabrielle (Gabi) Loring is passionate about measurement and helping clients understand the power of their communication campaigns through upfront planning and strategy. As a managing consultant with Gallagher, Gabi partners with clients to develop and implement complex, multi-media strategies for communicating human resource, change and benefits-related issues.

A long-time IABC volunteer, Gabi has served as IABC DEI Committee Chair, IABC Awards Committee Chair and as Chicago Gold Quill Awards Blue Ribbon Panel Chair for 8 years. A former IABC Chicago President, she received the IABC Chair’s Award in 2024 for her work serving on the IABC Organizational Design Task Force 2.0 and IABC Chicago Karen Utterback Volunteer Award in 2017.
